As defined by The International Association of Conference Interpreters (AIIC), conference interpreting is the practice of conveying the meaning of a speaker’s message orally and in another language to listeners who would not otherwise understand. Conference interpreting is usually performed at multilingual meetings between delegates of national governments, international organizations or non-governmental organizations.
